hi iv a j reg 325i e30 can anyone tell me if it has an inlet air temperature sensor? if so where is it. if possible can some one send me pics of it and where it is thank you, the email addy is nonny82@hotmail.com

fairly sure there is no such a thing as intake air temp sensor. you have an air mass meter which measures and regulates the amount of air going into the throttle body and the computer adjusts fuel to suit. you have an engine temp sensor which basically measures water temp and adjusts the fuel / air mixture accordingly. this is situated near the front of the fuel rail and is blue (the brown one in same location is for your temp guage)

They don't tend to fail really. I know people try to play with these to fool the ECU into thinking its freezing cold outside meaning it pumps in more fuel.

but i thought the ECU got its temp readings for fueling from the Blue temp sensor alone, you can fool the engine in the same way by using a resistor instead of blue temp sensor, but why you would want to is beyond me unless you had a extreamly large TB on there otherwise would run too rich????

thats why im after the ATS to use on of them resistor things iv been told they increase power and other things to has anyone heard of this before or shed some light on this please thank you all for your replys
I'd seriously steer clear of things like that...I think this this thread from the other week is probably talking about something along the same lines:
