I need to get rid of the bus steering wheel on my 325i SE.
I assume that changing the wheel on it will be the same as on other cars? Nothing querky to look out for?

All you need to do is pop out the bmw emblem in the centre of the wheel, or if its an se 3 spoke wheel, pop out the round plastic horn button surrounding the bmw emblem, and there will be a 22mm nut, take this and the washer off, and the wheel is off.

Great stuff, pretty much standard then.
I assume if I want to fit an after market wheel I will need a new adaptor boss?
There are a couple of guys on here selling M-tech wheels are they are straight replacement without a boss change?

Yeah, aftermarket wheels will require a boss. The m-tech wheels will fit straight on as long as they are from an E30/E34. E36 steering wheels don't fit as I understand it. If you are getting an mtech wheel try and get a 370mm diameter rather than the larger 385mm, will help on those laps of the ring!

Not sure on diameter... will check tonight. It's the same size as the 3-spoke leather SE type wheel.
Here are some pics...
