I left my cab parked on the road today and i was working away on my mg on the drive when i heard a loud crunch!

Looked down the drive to see a 4x4 wedged against my cab so i ran over and no-one was in the 4x4! and it had simply rolled down the hill and decided to stop using my car......

Once i eventually found out where it had rolled from, we had a dilemma how the bloody hell do we move them without damaging my car as they were literally touching each other side by side.

So we got a few neighbours to help bounce my cab across and then i was able to check for damage Wing mirror had been whacked against the glass so popped it back into its normal position and it wasn't broken, there was two massive 4x4 tyre marks down the side but these have t-cutted off revealing no creases in the bodywork I had left my wheels slightly turned so my d/s front wheel has taken all of the impact and stopped it from hitting my bodywork so my next concern was the suspension and tracking so i went to my local garage and its all sweet

I still can't believe there is no damage, when i heard it i was expecting the whole side to be caved and the cab to be wrote off.

Just shows how strong these e30's are!!!

i can vouch for they're strength alright! 4 days after buying my 318i i hit a 206 o/s to o/s, i caved his full side in, sent him off the road into a field wrecking the otherside and underneath, my damage? a fist sized dent in the wing and a scuffed bumper! heres the funny bit, he phoned the police and turns out he wasnt insured!

The 4x4 owner just came running towards the cars saying 'shit its hit a BMW' she was honest enough to admit she couldn't have put the handbrake on properly, i think she was a suprised as me that there was no damage!

I did exactly the same thing to a Saxo (well except for the field bit)...Saxo needed new front bumper, wing and the bonnet was bent too...

E30: Tiny dent that you don't know is there unless you feel around for it, and a coupla scratches on the wing

Here's the unfunny bit....the bloke decided to blame me for him driving across my path so now the insurance companies seem to be deciding to go mixed fault...

Just watch out for muppets in small French cars....especially Saxos!

Doesn't always work like that. - I hit a G reg. Citreon up the rear end last Monday. He pulled onto a roundabout, and then, un noticed by me, decided to stop. I pulled off, looking one way and driving another, and bang.
Hit the front left corner of my car at about 45 degrees into the middle of his suprisingly strong rear bumper.
I did for wing, front panel, headlamps, foglight, left hand grill, plastic bits under the wing and a slight crease on the bonnet.
All he apparently had was a couple of slight cuts in the plastic bumper face!
He didn't ask for my name, adress, insurance details or anything else, so I think he was probably uninsured.

Had something like that happen to me on a round about once in one of my Golfs, did nothing to the Vectra i hit but put a big V in my bumper and creased the bonnet, i did only manage to hit the towbar though

I used to think tow bars were a great "bumper" untill i learned that they can do more serious damage to your car when they get hit,as they are bolted to the chassis.
That said,they are useful for those momentary driving lapses one has from time to time,such as reversing into a parking spot a few weeks ago,not paying attention,put towbar through someones lovely brand new fence!Whoops!
