BUT only if I leave the stereo face on. If I take it off (I assume this breaks the circuit) then no probs, battery still has charge.
Only found out by chance, dont leave it in the car over night normally.
Any ideas on how to stop it!
Had electric arial fitted and it drained the battery...

yes, otherwise you lost the settings...I found that it was possible to switch it off completely by pressing the remote off for several secondsmassive wrote:Was it wired up on the constant power and not switched?DaveD wrote:this happened to me but it was not the arial, it was the radio ( a sony) which i left on standby

Its the only thing I have changed, it was manual before. How do you know its the aerial?
When fitted the wire was not right (dont ask me what) I did not turn the stereo off to be fair, I just took the face off and took the keys out of the ignition. Could weel be that I do need to turn it off from the stereo but it is not something I have been playing with - having to drain and charge my battery is not my idea of fun!massive wrote:

An electric aerial has two 12V supplies attached to it, one is a constant 12v supply and the other is the trigger wire from the stereo which is 12v while the aeriel is extended. If the aerial goes down when the stereo is switched off, I can't see how it could be draining the battery.
