Hi,

i have a 1987 325i with cat. Since the cat is probably not in perfect condition after all there years i was thinking of removing it.

Can i just replace it with a decat pipe, or will this cause any problems with engine management, lambda or something ?

remove the cat, if you have the 02 sensor best to retain it

I assume you're not in the UK dude ??

options are .cut the cat out and replace with a silencer or pipework only, or buy the correct non cat downpipe and centre sections and retro fit those, problem with this option is you'll need to add the 02 boss before fitting

assuming you have the 073 ECU, lots of chipping options suddenly become available

No, im not from UK, im from Slovenia. And I do have O2 sensor, so its best to keep cat on ?

I was thinking of cutting the cat off and replacing it with a custom made pipe. I just want to make sure the car will run OK after i remove a cat.

I dont know about my ECU. I emaild you a few weeks ago about chips if you remember. I still didnt remember to check my ECU number :) I would do it now, but my GF has a car right now :)

as long as you have no legal need for the cat, best left in the skip
