Paul,

No m8. Cab rear seats will not fit into a saloon.

M3 seats not the same either.

See you on Sunday :D

but but but... why would you WANT to fit 2 seats into a car when once there were 3

why?

if the cab seats are in good nick, sell them for 3000 GBP on Ebay, then buy a new rear seat that fits your car.....

Paul, you're welcome to try mine for size on Sunday if you like... :thumb:

I've got a feeling they're narrower than the saloon bench though. Don't know if M3 ones are the same width?

They no where near fit im afraid, and no M3 seats are quite different also, but also only 2 seaters. M3 seats are rareer.

And in response to above 'why only go for 2 seats when you had 3', because they look so much better and i easily fit 3 people in the car rear seat still :thumb:

except for the poor s*d in the middle who's six inches higher than everyone else, six inches further forward, and has no seat belt....... or does his/her seatbelt come out between the other passengers legs ?

Usually i make sure the short person is in the middle, and i dont often have a car of 5 people! And no, the third seatbelt is under the seat so it looks good.

Its placey's car, he can do as he pleases, and rest assured it'll be up to his usual high standard

good luck wit the bidding, and maybe you'd fancy doing a writeup when (if) you fit them please?

Ive seen the cab seats in a Baur and they came with tin top seats. As long as you use the side panels and dont mind doing a bit of adapting, they should go in ok.

its not your car is it..... well shut up then placey can do what he wants!!! the e30 is a famously narrow car anyway so itll be much better &original if its knocked down to 2 seats!

i've seen his car and it is v good! (ill be seeing it a lot more in the next year as im gonna be in the same street from the end of next month!!)

M3 rear seats will fit where a standard e30 rear bench was with no problems or mods. A covertible rear seat is nearly a foot narrower than a standard rear seat and unless your passengers have all got aids (like Jonb!) or are under 12 years old (argos !) you will not get more than 2 in the back. I have seen council types with cab interiors in their standard e30s and it looks really sad and wrong, the fact that a cab trim is generally worth more than a coupe/ saloon one really does beg the question why ?.
Suprise suprise i have a complete M3 rear seat in dog tooth check (same as early chrome turds) first victim with £175 owns it. :)

I didn't say he couldn't do it, did I? I was pointing out the downs... it's called constructive criticism, so let Placey tell me to shut up if he wants, not you - it's a free country.

lol! 8O

no offence intended, just get a bit narked when folks (not you particularly) go off on one cos someone wants to do somenthing to their car.

at the end of the day, as long as an e30 remains on the road, the owner is doing a good job

cheers for all your comments.

pete - the last 2 complete sets of leather on ebay have gone for 80 odd quid so i'll not be taking you up on your kind offer just yet. i missed out on the sets i was bidding on - mainly because i didn't bid enough money for them.

i'll keep looking.

right - having taken on board what's been said above i've found a complete m3 leather interior (all seats and doorcards) with only slight discolouring on one drivers side bolster and the drivers seat tilt forward mehanism doesn't work. they're the vertical sticthing type of seats. question is how much is this worth?

he's after around 300 for the lot. bargain or rip off?

Vertical stitching isnt the traditional M3 style, as im sure you know. This will make them worth a little less, but its all about condition. With no cracking a M3 set will for for up to 500.

I would say that 300 is a very good price for genuine M3 leathers in good condition. The machanism can easily be fixed.

Im not sure of that, but either way M3 leather seats look amazing, they totally transformed my car. I paid 375 for a mint set, and complete interior, this was a bargain.

300 is a bargain also, get some pics up of them fitted

i never heard back from the leather m3 seats bloke - so i bought these instead:

ebay m3 interior link

they are in very good condition indeed. he's stripped them out of his track car - shame really. the whole car is proper mint though and looks good with it's roll cage and cobra buckets.

now - retrim the rears to match my cloth or all seats and door cards in leather?

anyone want an interior in cloth when i'm done? perfect condition.

Full re-trim in leather is how I'd do it.

Is this the 'comfort' or 'Sport' variety?

if i go the leather route then time will be a factor - i'm going through a financial sticky patch (to put it mildly).

i have a mint anthracite comfort interior in the loft. i have a mint anthracite sport interior fitted. i have a very nearly mint m3 sport interior in the back of the van. 2 of the 3 will have to go.
