Hi Guys, my paintwork is looking a little tired so was going to brighten it up with some paint renovator (Autoglym being my chosen product) and was also finally going to get round to buying myself a powered buffer, it will be used on this job and to apply polish in the future. I have been reading up in Practical Classics magazine and also Auto Express, both of whom suggest using either the Halfords 240v buffer or the Kinzo version.

Details here:

Has anyone used a power buffer, they worth it? and also regarding the paint renovator, any tips, suggestions?. I intend a good wash, renovator, polish, Autoglym clear coat.

Thanks for any replies,

Meguirs stuff seem to be in a better league than autoglym. But wichever way its not a bad starting point, jus take yoour time and use good micro fibre cloths etc whilst applying and removal of wax's.

Good luck.

Do not press hard or spend too much time near edges witha powered buffer as they can take the paint completely off.

Autoglym.........

Iv been told by the king of car cleaning c76jon not to touch the crappy halfords buffer. Porter cable is the only way to go if you dont want to do it by hand. Not cheap but if a jobs worth doing its worth doing right!

if you do get a buffer make sure you have it in the paint work when you start/stop it. if you lift it off and then turn it off it may speed up and burn/damage the paint.
