Anyone know where I can get some technical details of this conversion. I can't find any engine conversions on the E30 section of the Hartge website.
Also, anyone heard of Hartge H3? I think it's a 2.0 M20 conversion.
Thanks
Stuart.

H26 comes in two forms.
The early version was built using a 323i crank (77mm) and 325i pistons (alothough highly modified). This gave approx capacity of 2.6 litres. It then also had the 6 branch manifold, head work, 280 degree camshaft and remapped ECU.
The second later version was standard 325i bottom end, modified head, thinner head gasket, 280 degree camshaft and lots of head work.
Both versions gave claim to 190 bhp.
The earlier conversions were the real beasties and having the real 2.6 litres made them rev like hell.
Most hartges on the road now are the later type conversion which did not do anything to the bottom end.
Most of the above info has been taken from Birds UK.
