I went to the stealership yesterday, to get the light board for my obc. Spoke to the guy there, and he gave me a price. I nearly p'ed myself.......
This is the price he wanted me to pay, for a light board for my obc:
400 Rand
So I figured - lets just buy two little lights and solder them in myself -
The price for these 2 small lights:
2 Rand....
To put in perspective - its like paying 40 quid for a part that will cost you 18 pence to fix yourself.
Bloody rediculous. The guy actually said he felt embarrased asking me that price for the part, but thats what they are told to ask by Germany.

a few year back The clock bulb for a 1995 rover 216 was something daft like £20! I just never bothered replacing it as it was a b*tch of a job to prise it out anyway.

A mate and I fitted two amber LEDs, calculated the required resistor and soldered them in.
Bout a quid and the LEDs should last a while. Also the colour looks really nice and clear I guess because the LED only produces light from the right bit of the spectrum (not the tapedeck bit or the crappy joystick).
