Having big problems removing my water pump, its just solid and won't budge! used the two threaded holes that are meant to pull it off but the casting has broke on both of them :x

Tried using mole grips and hammer etc, just won't move at all....

Any suggestions?

Thats exsactly wot happened 2 mine [wen it was a318] if it has moved a bit u can use a small crow bar and a big hammer or get some 1 that has the muscles 2 leaver it off aslong as u ain't marked the block 2 much it wil stil be ok as it seals round the ring gasket i bought a genuine 1 from bmw and it was an exchange thingy but i smashed the crap out of it dont think there was anything worth saving off of it well and trully fucked!!
have a break then give it anouther go or if like me take it out on something :x :wales:

When I did mine ,I snapped one of the lugs designed to make removal easier and used the following method to remove it
Using a flat bladed tool(like a paint scraper)to open up a small gap between the block and the water pump casting.Once you've done that, try to get a screwdriver or something similar(small chisel)in the gap you've just made. Then do the same directly opposite so you can then apply equal leverage on the pump and "rock" the pump out.

Its great when you have someone who can do it while your at work  , we decided to replace the fan belt and power steering belt while we were on the job.

Today its a good ol oil change and to put a new badge on the boot (been meaning to do this for ages)
