When I take my foot off the gas in my 318i tourer, the car almost kangaroos. Obviously happens more going slowly, can't work out if it's throttle related or shocks any ideas? Matt

does it tickover with a lumpy idle too?
sounds like a possible air leak in the induction system, so check the rubber elbow for splits as well as all hoses

you've most likely got an air leak at the inlet manifold
spray some wd40 around the manifold where it bolts to the head, if normal idle is temporarily restored then that's your culprit.
My 325 did exactly the same as yours, jerking around when crawling along in traffic

yep, because it will be taking in unmetered air after the AFM & Throttle body, so ECU will not get the setting right.
inlet manifold off etc is a bit of a pain but worth it in the end when the car ticks over properly & doesn't lurch it's way down the road

I would certainly investigate those areas first Matt.
Does it tick over smoothly or does it hunt up and down the revs a bit?

Hi I have noticed my M40 doing the same if I am
travelling along at slow speeds, when I take it down
a gear it clears.
I take it this will be the same prob.no lumpy tick over.
