Well the car got the carbon fibre airbox on air bexleys and they mapped it.
It sounds absolutley amazing i can't explain how great it sounds. And above 6k when the TBs are fully open 8O . Well heres a couple of teaser pics of the c/f box.

So heres what you looked at the thread for

269BHP @ 7700 (flywheel)
194lbft @ 6700 (flywheel

And bexleys said it was about 220 at the wheels.
The torque seems really low i was expecting more seems rong. Heres the dyno chart:

About what i would expect on the BHP side but im surprised about the torque - would expect a bit more considering the amount of work thats been done.

Car still looks sweet tho man - told u those airboxes are amazing :D

Did they offer you any explaination about the torque?

I know how much £Â£ your dad's put into this engine and if it was me id be wanting to know why my money has not given more of an improvement in that area.

Were not talking pocket money here - this is a SERIOUS investment and should have resulted in better figures IMO.

Yeah i know but it is about 30lbft improvement which aint bad i don't think but i was expecting quite a bit more.

Andrew would you expect that powerband with 284 cams?

torque curve is all over the shop !!

also a couple of flat spots in places in the power curve

impresive peak power though, any life expactancy or warrenty with the engine ??

given the costs involed i would expect something of that nature, and hope that that is a "safe" map

MBE or Maxx ?

given the engine is still breaking in, there's a fair bit more to come once she's loosened up a bit more.

Curves actually look OK to me, yeah torque has some peaks and troughs but overall not bad at all I'd say

how does she feel on the road ??

Kos i don't believe there is any warranty with the engine.

Ant the engine was already run when bexleys got it back we did 1000 miles 2weeks before.

It's great on the road a couple of flat spots low down but over 4k  And espeacially with the airbox on.

Maxfield, give these guys a call, speak to the guy who mapped Dale's car a while back, he also was missing torque after a Bexleys remap and they found it for him!

I've tried to find the thread about it but no joy so far but I do remember how happy Dale was after the visit to EA.

1K miles is not run in dude, my SE engine was tight and lazy until she passed the 30K mark, then all hell broke loose

Nigel and Jags will always map a car to the best they feel they can warrant, yeah I'm sure more power can be had with more timing advance, but its a dangerous game guys, reputations are priceless

Mapping matra, adjust to peak , then back of a couple of %, just to be on the safe side, all it would take is a some shite fuel , and with the engine tuned for super pooper unleaded, the whole thing could shat itself without warning.

Cant fault that mentality.

I'm sure once the miles rack up, everything will come back into focus, have you spoken to Bexleys since taking the car back ? I'm sure if you're not 100% they'll gladly run through the what/why/whens with ya.

My experience is a drop in the ocean compared to Nigel and Jags, speak to them about your concerns :thumb:

I have no concerns at the moment neither does my ad the car goes very well. I suppose as i believe the blocks peak at 70k-80k i believe oh well be a good few years before that ever happens.

Looks MBE to me, this is not the first Bexley car to get the same power from a 2.5 with Air box.

What did they use for filtration?
