My old 320iS was called Bert. Only because my previous car, Rolf, had a name...
Mind you, Rolf was a J plate black Mk2 Golf Ryder 1300cc 4 speed slammed demon!
lol - it actually had a personality and could drive itself!

Her indoors named Betty, it came from the Tom Jones song Black Betty, but she was known as Bad betty
whooaaaa Bad Betty.......etc
I'll get me coat

The soarer was kind of named Sumo, on account of the size & weight of the damn thing, but really it is just called "the soarer" but perhaps it should be named Oliver Reed on account of the thirst

people at work call her the minta or the beeeeeema. i call her the ''old girl'' or the motor works. i talk to her aswell, ask how she is if i havent driven her for a few days.... and before you all ask... no she dosent answer back! well she does when i turn the key(never lets me down)
if i was going to name her by the plate it would be H677hct so it would be hackett as in hackett-london.

My touring has been named Bob (battered old bimmer) by my missus. Had a metro given to me by my missus' gran which she'd attempted to cover up some rust on the boot by bizarrely painting a big lightning flash on! Hence the 1L White Flash was born

My 318 touring was the TUB as well. The reg ended in TUB and it was white - so its full name was the Tub of Lard....325 is white too - but TUB doesn't fit as well. Reg ends in UAX so it gets called the axe on occasions (only if its being good).
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap

Interesting thread fellas, I always wondered if a car should have a girls name or a guys name - would be interested in your views on this one. Steven King's Christine comes to mind as does the mustang in 'gone in 60 seconds' (can't for the life of me remember its name now - Geraldine or something). Anyway, I'm an Aussie, so my E30 325i is named after the '3 Bruces sketch' from Monty Python - yeah you guessed, its called Bruce...
My E30 M3 is called Max - which theoretically could be a guy or a girls name, but is derived mainly from 'Mad Max'.
Cheers! Tim.
