Can someone explain to me why there are different numbered lsd`s please as im sort of looking for one for a mate .
Might be me being stupid :? Looked at my mates beemer today and both wheels spin when drifing or doughnutting but when the cars in the air you spin one wheel the other sits still and does nothing , It does this on both sides , I said theres no lsd as the wheels not spinning in the same direction , We tried this both sides and the opposite wheel sits still :?
Does this mean no slipper as both wheels definatly spin when doughnutting :?

Is the gearbox in neautral........

If the gear box is in neautral, then the prop will spin (path of least resistance....)

Different number = Diff ratio
Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

it doesnt matter if its in neutral or not. in fact, thats the only way to tell its a slipper, by leaving the car in neutral and turning one wheel to make sure the other spins the same way.

if you put it in gear, you'll be trying to turn the engine, thus creating resistance, and an open diff will spin the same.

basically, just look at the tag on the diff, if its got an "S" on the tag, like S391, then its a slipper with a 3.91 ratio. no S, no slip....
