Hi Alex,Turbo-Brown wrote:Has it turned up yet Ian?!
Posty tried to deliver it at 10am, but I was in bed (working nights at the moment). I went to the sorting office and got it this afternoon.
I've fitted it, but I was stuck in slow traffic on the way to work, so it's hard to tell if it's made a difference.
I'll give it a good thrash on the way home in the morning and see if there's any improvement.
Cheers,
Ian.

Cool, glad it's turned up! Really hate posting expensive things, would be such a pain in the arse claiming on the insurance if it did go missing I bet!

I may try removing the mesh after the MAF as this will have less effect on the laminar airflow. Mind you, it's got to be worth trying both. It's not like it's hard to put them back if it doesn't seem to run correctly.
After my drive home this morning, I don't think the new MAF has made a lot of difference, but at least it's one less thing to consider. I'm going to get the machanical cam timing checked to make sure this is spot on, and then it's time for some rolling road work.
Ian.

Hi,
Another Mod for the MAF is to remove the plastic screens both
front and rear, and then replace just the front screen with some
25mm open square 1mm thick bar stainless steel mesh.
This helps retain the airflow movement, but still removes around
5-7 % of the air flow restriction as caused by the much thicker
plastic screens.
I have been running with both screens removed for about 6 months
and have no issues, but the car is not my daily runner, I use it
weekends only.

The Gorilla.
