Been thinking about my ideal mod'd car and wondered roughly what would I need and how much will it cost me....

I was thinking 3.5 twin turbo V8 M3 Touring

40/40 drop - something like H&R Kit
Some nice deep dish 7" front and 8" or 9" rears
Bonnet scoop
Quad side exhausts
Matt black paint job

Premise - Dark and Evil

I think you get the idea....Could get a clean shell cheap enough but not sure about the rest of it.

I have no idea about costs... but it sounds evil as fook.

but it can be really cheap... I remember there was a robot on Robot Wars called 101.... it cost the owners only £1.01 to make.... yes off topic i know, depends on how resourceful you are :D

Are you talking about using a V8 M3 engine??? If so, sell the house!

hello mate!!!

Still dreaming about that monster car then eh???

My head is still fuzzy, slept too much last nite!!!

Think the engine and turbo's are going to be the biggest issue, cost and install. Need to find someone pretty fecking clever to help there. Networking and luck needed by the bucketful!!

Not earning too bad just now, we are talking in next 5-10 years so bit longer term. I did have ball park £10k in mind. I know that's M3 money but this would be sooo much fun!

Sad I know but I can't get it out of my head, I WANT a V8 aty least once in my life and this would be sweeet as!

Nah mate, I'm pretty open minded - I'll take an american V8 so long as I know it is reliable. I think there are a few out there so no rocking horse shit required! (I say american 'cause I dont know of any that aren't based on one of theirs anyway - like the rover V8)

I know of a few V8 tourers on here, come on lads what are your experiences....? Dont make me PM you!!

Ha, ha. You are really dreaming mate. A 3.5 twin turbo will set you back around £15k. That includes custom remap and stuff. I know this for a fact cause i looked at a similar setup. You could of course do it like most of the Zone by cutting corners and end up with a car that spends more time in the garage than on the road :(

Modding properly = big bucks in most cases unless your a wizard mechanic or you're tickling your toes for some hairy mechanic to ravish your alley way. If you're not into either, then take out a mortgage. Dips has a V8 and i can tell you it cost him a lot more than your entire budget just for the engine lol winkeye

I think a V8 with twin turbo's would be a little too powerful!

Even a 3.6 M5 lump in an E30 touring makes for a super car basher - ask Demlot and Simon13, they have been in one.

E39 M5 lump in an E30 M3 shell would be PHAT with some decent suspension, good wheels and tyres. 400 BHP in a light car is more than enough.....and it's do-able as Glenn has shown.

Cheers Bootyman, thats the purpose of the post, I wanted to know what the reality would be of doing a project like this. I am not a wiz so would need someone else to do a lot of the work. Dont get me wrong I want to do a lot myself but I know when I need proper expertise.

Looks like I need to keep buying those lottery tickets

i also looked in to this
the cheapest i got was twin turbo on exsisting engine
which was 7k depending if no probs.
could go as high as nine.
so i took easy option .
done 100bhp nos .
superchip
k&n air filter
straight thru custom stainless zorst.
2k for 300bhp with nos that,l do for me.
also depends if you want show or go.
me personally show.
good luck with your choices.thought of selling your body
for money. ha ha
