They are rapid!

1st bit of race was just a quick overtake on an A road... it had me on acceleration, but it had to slow down more for the upcoming roundabout... I had my car sideways round the roundabout ( I was really pushing it ). Second bit of race, coming onto the dual carriageway, he went for it, and so did I... He wasn't pulling away ever so quickly, but he was definitely beating me... untill he caught up with my mate in his 325i sport just up the road... !

My mates sport has been chipped, has a power boost valve, and has recently had a tune up... Dunno what his power figures are, but I can totally out accelerate him, all the way to about 125mph, when my car tops out... I recon if I was on my own, I could have had a good chance against the 750i, but I had 2 other people in my car...

BTW, my car is just a 316i, with a 2.5 lump. Totally stock. The original 1.6 diff is the way to go for all out acceleration! :D

erm not bein funny, but i doubt he was trying that hard... 367bhp and 0-62 in 5.5 secs, kinda pisses all over an e30's 160bhp (find a late m20b25 putting out standard power) and 7.5 - 60..

Always worth a pop tho

And once all that weights moving it would be as quick as you like. He must not have had shares with the local petrol station.

gotta second Jhonno, especially if the race was from 50mph up to a high speed where the 750's engines power and torque really comes into its own, but then again it could have been a 730 or 735 re badged in which case i would recond your 325 would give it a good run (but still come out second best above 50mph  )

sorry dude we can beat citrons and the like but the big boys are a little out of a standard 325's league!!! Even my Z3 3.0 struggles against the big bimmers :x

Don't get me wrong, I know I had no chance against him... But he was defintiely going for it.

Its just nice when you see these modern BMW's driven a bit hard.

Plus, I dunno what my 0-60 time is, but I can keep up with my mates E30 with an M50 lump... Right up to where he hits 5th gear, and then he's gone!

Tell your mate to remove the "Power Boost Valve", absoloute rubbish and overfuels the engine on acceleration, defo go better without the wrongness attatched.

No problem being a pain in the arse but make sure your facts are correct! You can get an E65 750i. This is the engine which has replaced the 745i and is available in E65 or E66 formats.
