Hiii winkeye

Recently I saw a lovely colour on an E39 M5, it was a nice bright bluey purple. It wasn't Technoviolet, it was brighter. Can anyone tell me what colour it was? I want it!

Thanks people

you tell me  ?

Maybe it's a BMW Individual colour? It definately exists, i've seen it with my eyes, and thought it would make a lush colour on an e30 with smoked lights and graphite coloured alpina style wheels, and a 'very' slight tint to the windows.

Macau blue can look very purple in some lights but they never made the e39 in macau.

Daytona Violet would be my guess

the pics of daytona violet i've seen on the web doesn't show the same shade, it's darker than what i've seen, i guess i will stop at the garage again and ask them to pop the bonnet open so i can see, i'm not doubting any of your suggestions, but this colour is WELL rare in my opinion. I've only ever seen the M5 and this (correction from before) 330ci,

wow the daytona violet is nice, but the one i saw was slightly more like purple than violet (add some blue, and make it a tiny bit brighter), is the macau blue pearlescent or just metallic?

On an E39 M5 I would guess it was Velvet Blue. This is an individual colour. I have seen this colour on some late E36 convertibles as well as E39's.

Looks great and alive when the sun is out and the car is clean. Then goes back to sleep on a dreary day.

Here is a selection of Autotrader cars in this colour, doesn't do it justice. The 7 looks nice though.
