While I have got my car in bits I was thinking about having the bonnet opening the other way. Has anyone done this or got any info on how to go about it.

i think that you are risking you bonnet fly open at high speed unless you do it and get it perfect!!
you will need bonnet pins, but not every one wants that
a lot of effort, but it will look good if done properly

I was going to try and use the catches from an e28 they had 2 and a safey catch.

Dont think bonnet pins will be needed if you fit a saftey catch, thats all thats needed for an MOT

i had the bonnet of my punto fly up and smash the window when i was going down the bypass at 80!
it was dark too! that wasnt nice. and it scares the shitti out of you.
thats another thing i love about my e30' its weird backwards bonnet.

use bits off the e28 ,need to move the fuse box as well and a lot of trail and error
thats all i can say,not something that i would want to do again in a rush

What are the benifits of this mod?
Easyer access to work on the engine?

There are no benifits to this mod that I can think of

I just want to do it. I was going to go for a flip front but I cant work out how to do it. I think this mod will be alittle easier

thats looks mental, must have been a hell of a lot of work to get that to work.

it would certainly make it easier to work on the engine with a reversed bonnet.i still remember the look of absolute fear on another drivers face as he overtook me on a motorway a few years ago and just as he was along side me his bonnet flew up and smashed his screen
