lol.. thats 631bhp.. and 592 lbft of torque!! Wonder if they uprated the chassis to stop it from snapping in half!

And it goes to show what you can get into that enginebay!!

yes. thats around 600bhp, probably at the wheels also.

you could expect more from this engine. but thats got reliable power.

the torque on that thing is unreal. notice how is spins the wheels from idle. thats crazy.

Utter... insanity, it's almost as bad as the Rover SD1 in PPC! (For those not in the know, it's got a 27 litre Meteor engine from a tank on home made injection and the possiblity of twin T88 turbos! )

Have you heard the vid of that being started with no exhaust headers on it?! I am sure it was heard a mile away!

Those engines FI really well too, the Meteor is the same engine as the Merlin fitted in Spitfires and Lancaster Bombers too I think, only it's supercharged in the aircraft (for pressure reasons at altitude rather than power)

You mean this video? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 4477077608

Sounds insane, and yes the Supercharger was for altitudes to keep the air pressure in the manifold at sea level, not to boost power as you'd first think.

Thats just plain ridiculous. IMO cars like this are just a bragging rights tool. In the real world im confident a lesser powered car would a) out accelerate it and b) work better around a track.

The thing is it has too much power for the car to cope with. Suspension wise, chassis wise, wheel size wise, its just not adequate enough.

But dont get me wrong, a serious bit of inginuity to put that lot together. Well done!

The story of the 27 litre Rover!

Im sure the guy did it because he owns a gearbox place and he wanted to prove he could build a "Gearbox" that could handle the power!

i suppose that's a very large volume of oily air (high boost for a large engine being dumped must be more volume of air).

worrying about the blackness though.... oil? dirt from engine bay? smoke signals? external wastgate into engine bay?

i wouldnt say it was wastegate becuase when it happens is throotle closes, imo its a maybe leaking turbo and its coming out of dumpvalve

its all about torque !!

to spin the tyres from idle and trying to pull away normally makes it an interesting car

can you imagine this in the rain !!!!
