i have one of these under dash light things..
it does not seem to work, the liquid in the tubes is not moving.. what would be best, remove it or leave it as it is..
the reason for asking is that i need a need underneath panel and if get one without the hole, should i make one and fit it??

BMW Specialist garage I took mine too said the hydraulic headlamp adjuster where always a bit of a nightmare. Touring I bought had the tubes cut and the adjuster knob glued solid.
Unless you tow stuff and need to adjust the dip of your headlights or, like me, are a sucker for things being 'original' I wouldn't bother. Don't know what other zoners think?

never seen one working!!! be careful about the fluid though it is similar to anti-freeze and is toxic i am told. cut the pipes at your firewall, bend then back on themselves and tape the up, never to be bothered with again!!

Lol mine never had any fluid in it to begin with
It don't work either. I think whats normally done is to replace that panel with one off a 316/318 which doesn't have level adjusters

It's still nice to have the illuminated switch on the interior panel even if it doesn't do anything!

Oh well, stick up for BMW time... Mine have worked for nearly 14 years and I would guess it's very difficult to get the panel with the cut-out. I just never figured out why BMW fitted them to a convertible…

has anyone tried to adapt the e34 5 series electric adjusters to an e30? spied them in the scrappy last week but one of the motors on the lights was missing...might work with a bit of fiddling
