Just how bad are these to fit.
I have enquired with a few people about fitting and they wont touch em with a very long pole!!!
They have suggested the dealers to get it done.
Anyone know how much this costs?

Dealers seem to quote different prices! give them a ring, I've heard of some dealers doing them for as little as £90, some quote £250...
I paid £120 a while back for an independent to do mine, they hated the job! hence why i didn't do them myself!

I did mine in my own garage and was fine. Slid straight off.

If you dont have an extraction/insertion tool, forget about it and get a garage to do it.

small blowtorch to heat the subframe around the bush
and a large eg 32mm socket and a big hammer
warm up sit socket on top of bush and a crack or 2 and the buggers are out
and for the trailing arm bushes use the same theory but you need an old head bolt to knock out the bushes
and reverse the process minus the heat use some fairy to help slip it in

My mate is an engineer and he refused to do it without the tool.
I think I will have to hunt around and get someone to do it.
I am perfectly willing to have a go at this but knowing my competency underneath cars it will probably end in disaster!

Lots of oil down the bolts under the seats, there are little black caps covering them (sometimes), pull these off and get a load of penetrating oil down them. Get the car on a set of stands and support the subframe on a jack/stands. Undo the nuts holding the bolt in place, wind it back until it's flush with the end of the bolt then get a bit agricultural with a sodding big hammer. Drive the bolts up into the car, that should be the subframe free, sometimes the bush sticks in the bodyshell and that can be difficult to get out, no real tips on that as it hasn't happened to me yet.
Once the bolts and frame are clear you can use the extraction tool to get the bush out or you can torch them out. You can also use a drill and a padsaw to cut the centre out and the rest should come out easy enough. You can also torch them out but mind the petrol tank as there isn't a lot of clearance. A length of stud bar and 2 large plates can be used to wind the bush back in. Use Fairy Liquid on normal bushes and WD40 on polys (don't worry it dries out). If you are dropping the frame you can just press them back in with a hydraulic, but that's a lot of xtra work as you have to drop the exhaust and diff out too.
