now you see thats my exact point, you get slated for your car which is designed for a particular purpose and then you pull out your normal E30, which must be making the slaters think twice now about there comments, good luck with the shows and features and like gouki said if you are at ace on the 13th i will do a tim westwood and holla!

kingcruiser , welcome to the home of many level headed e30 auto enthusiasts we are all different peoples coming from abroad coasts to coast and have very different tastes when it comes to our cars BUT I CAN SAY there are no two e30 that are alike (yours included) your car is unique .
stick around a bit and absorb the sea of knowledge you can learn here....
once again welcome.

why would the slaters be thinking twice now? the guy asked our opinions and we gave them.should i not be allowed to express my opinion because i dont like it? i dont understand all the folk saying the people criticising are out of order.stop sitting on the fence you bunch of gutless women , i do like your other car though
You can see there has been alot of work put into it. Personally, I dont like the exhausts and think it would look smarter with a single oval exit each side and I dont think bucket/racing style seats suit a cab. But it would be a boring world if everyone had the same views.
Most people on here hate my back light, but I luv em.

Well it certainly looks different and very interesting to see what has been done. The only things I do not really get are:
Clear rear lamps
Style of the wings
Dashboard - where are the instruments?
I'm not really sure what I'd do with the lamps - the colour is quite difficult to work with I think, a pale pearlescent would probably allow a few options there, maybe shading them a bit into the paint colour, straightforward tinting or trying a horizontal band of darkness so they disappear completely.
Wings: I prefer rolled/flared arches as they seem more graceful, like the back of a wide-bodied 911 for instance, or Corvette. You might be able to get a set of wider M3 style arches - although many people use them - ideally in your car I'd go for some full custom flared arches to get rid of the bolt-on look. The modern arch style of the Focus, TT, Mondeo etc looks nice too but I think it needs a car with curves whereas the E30 is a very square car, so you just need to soften the square at the wheels with a custom flare.
The Dashboard doesn't seem to flow for me, I'n not sure where the speedo etc are in there, and not sure the big speakers match because they are very round and the design is very angular. They would suit a bit sweeping curved dash/console better I think. Dashes are quite tricky to get right
Your wheels look fine on there - my personal fave are BBS wheels but only on fairly standard cars because of the whole look - they wouldn't suit your car - these are better here. Your wheels give a quite contemporary look but if you go for broke on futuristic then you may want a more filled in wheel look, or even full custom - deep dark dished like the Dodge on the Dukes of Hazzard might even suit. You might find photoshop a cheaper and quicker way to try out various designs.
I think you really need to get a clear picture in your mind about the whole look of the car (futuristic, Dan Dare, UFO, Deco etc.) and make sure that all parts of the car match that vision so the whole design sticks together well. The front dam might also do with painting the netting/grille the same colour as the main grille on the car as it will overshadow the front and make it look too bottom heavy.
Interesting doors - that must have taken some effort - are they powered like in I-robot?

^ Now thats how you comment and express views Fuzzy, read and learn.. they can be negative or positive.. what ever way you want to go it doenst need slating...and that has nothing to do with being gutless or sitting on the fence...as stated a million times, peeps post for verdicts, views, tips and ideas...comments like 'that is fuckin shit' and 'looks terrible' and being sick emoticons just dont cut it bud..
But most here obvioulsy respect the work and effort even if they dont like it..Tis only you!.. go and stand on the 'Naughty drain'..

without trying to offend, that poor e30. Fair play to you though, you've got some balls, going on to an e30 owners site an asking their opinion. Dont understand why you would want to appear in Mikey Carroll ''king of chavs'' favourite mag?? Why not go for a prop mag feature in the likes of Performance BMW, you never know third time round you might get it right?

i dont see anyone saying 'this is fcuking shit'. i found it to be enough to say i dont like it and I think it looks terrible without going into some long drawn out post. i though we were allowed to express views here,i didnt realise the zone was a back slapping ,well done youve done brilliantly, everything here is great sort of place
Hi Cruizer. Did i meet you at the BMW show last year? I remember a guy showing pics of his car on his mobile and it looks like your car?
Anyway welcome to the Zone and just keep on doing what you're doing mate. A lot of people here dont realise that Mtch2 kit and 17 Alpina replica's will not get you into modded car shows. Saying that, there are folks here who appreciate time and effort put into a car, but wouldn't do anythinh like that themself. My car is about as modded as they come and even though i know a lot of people wont do it given the chance, i know they appreciate that i'm trying to push the boundries of modding E30's for better or worse. Besides i dont really care anyway and that's exactly why i'm currently in the process of chopping up and abusing a Msport 1 of only 50 cab. I could have left it standadrd. but i just like upseting people here and that's excatly why i'm killing the fcuker
JAMZ i love you man. Your 1st post had me in stiches

yes JAMZ maybe im just not up on the lingo yet but off the subject please define "NAUGHTY DRAIN" it almost sounds like somthin the "NANNY" might say on her show here in the STATES nanny 911.
styling is like fashion... love it or hate it... if you love it, f*ckin do it mate, if not, thats fine..
I know why you've done your car up like this, and you've done a nice job on it, regardless if its everyones cup of tea...
my bodywork is standard because its a track car, thats why i have an e30, but fair play, its a show-stopper irrespective of of its everyones cup of tea or not...
Keep it up bud.

I have to say, no offence, it looks like a piece of sh*t. I personaly dont like outrageously modded cars. But theres a big difference between someone like Bootymans car and this, not trying to be a dick, but bens has a touch of class, its been well thought out without it seeming like random parts have been picked out of a maxpower magazine and stuck on.
And as for the 'if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything' type comments, people arnt trying to be twats, but if you post a car up thats modded like f*ck on a forum some people are going to hate it and some will love it, no point just expressing the good views.
Welcome to the forum btw

i didnt notice them the first time
i for one prefer honest opinions about things.this "i respect the amount of work gone into it" thing is the sitting on the fence nonsense i previously mention.what you really mean is you dont like it but your to soft to say.you build a car for yourself and yourself only,if thats what you like then fine, its your car. but i cant "respect the work thats gone into it" if i dont like it.but thats not to say i wouldnt try to help you out in anyway in future if i could. welcome to the zone

the car was built on all my own ideas, i too love standard looking e30's with big engines but this car was built for the modded scene. eg max power/fast car/revs/redline sort of shows. the car lokks alittle different since the last lot of photos

that car is outrageous
defo not my cup of tea but whenever i see any car i always say
i can appreciate the amount of work that people put into these things.
fast car and max power cars are meant to be as outrageous
and extreme as possible if their gonna make the cover nowadays
good luck mate.

That is a work of art, and as with all works of art people are either gonna love it, hate it or be relatively unmoved by it. For the max power/fast car scene it is pretty much spot on, and I cannot criticise that. I respect anyone who sticks their fingers up against the norm, and a beemer is not so common to be 'max'd' as say, a saxo. We have all seen 1000s of sh*tty chavs in 'max'd' saxos, but not as many BMWs. Although I keep my beemer standard as do many others, you have to respect that what we have here is someone who is pushing the boundaries. Its no different than bootyman or fuzzy with the cossie power.

I think it all comes down to what floats your boat. People also need to understand the difference between a show car and every day car. Everyday car is built to be practical whith practical functions so they look quiet standard. Show cars on the other hand are a different kettle of fish. If i had a £1 for everytime someone asked my why i had rear screens i'd be a rich man. The cars are built to demonstrate what can be done. I've seen show cars that dont even drive, but that's not the point. Now i have 10 tv's, 26 speakers and things you aint even heard off before. It's not cause i need them, but its a show car and that's what Joe public wants to see at shows. A car they can stand for 10 minutes talking about and not some Mtech 1 with Aplina repica's.

I'm kind of torn...I do like:
- The front (assuming the badge is going back on the bonnet or it'll be smoothed)
- The interior. Sod practicality, gets my vote! Fit a Stack digi motorsport dash pod maybe?
- The wheels.
- The colour.
I'm not keen on:
- The exhausts and their trims.
- Lexus lights generally, but this is a personal thing, and only becuase it's been over-used (like viper/racing stripes were - they look the NUTS on a GT40, not on a Saxo).
- The arches, although I'm not sure what alternatives there are other than the M3 stuff.
If it was me (just my personal view) and I was going all-out bling/showcar, I'd rework the arches (maybe just shortening the "lip" might do it, they cover too much wheel in my book), and fit custom-made fabricated exhausts that take their styling cue from the centre console: Something angled and with a similar surface finish, a bit like the new Honda ones?
The thing to remember about design (including car design) is that to create a "feature", ie to make something stand out, you need a plain/minimal background. Get a black car with chrome trim/door mirrors/wipers/bumpers and fit huge polished alloys and it looks messy. Colour code the trim/mirrors/wipers/bumpers black (ie make it part of the "background") and the wheels become the visual focus of the car!
Time to shut up, I'm rambling.......
