im still undecided on what engine to put into my car at the minute its a 1.8i that i had an idea of putting a turbo on , then theres a 2.7 conversion i was thinking about but i've just seen a 2.3 engine up for grabs locally fairly cheap or a 4.0 v8 whats gonna be my best option here? any body help :mad:

If you can still get the panels then go for it. Bonus is that once its done you know its done and secondly you can do all the smoothing/delocking etc before the final paint.

Take a look at a friend of mines Resto on his RS Turbo. Hopefully that will give you some inspiration.

and a quick question ive got a set of alloys off an e36 they are 18" m3 ones how hard would it be to make these fit an e30 bearing in mind if i have to hack the rear arches to make them fit i might as well do it now i'm looking at fitting the e36 front struts and the z3 rear arms will this work?

wrong amount of studs, totally wrong offset, to wide, and far to large in diameter @ 18''!!!

if i use e36 hubs front and z3 hubs rear then the studs are fine 18's can be fitted to anything if you want the hassle hence the reason for trying before i fit the new arches i want it to be different so im gonna have a go any way

i cant remove the engine yet as i've gota drive it round the corner to my sisters house while drive gets done but its getting there very very slowly

to be honest at the minute im not finding it that hard im kinda enjoying it just not too sure about when i strip the rest out and rebuild the brakes not sure on the abs and power steering side of it

another quick update just got a bargain off ebay so now i've decided what engines going in i've chose the m50 2.5 these should fit nicely bit of a bargain i think
