:D thanks for the offer chris
thats really appreciated
but ill be ok but big thanks  mnow thats true e30 owners spirit

had a better look a little while ago and its not the sill at all
its the very corner of the outer footwell if u get where i mean behind the wing

sad thing is when the pilluck did the plate it would have taken about 2mins more to have sorted this bit

on close inspection i think it may just get thru well i hope so anyway

not entirely happy with the plate he did today
he has covered everything in a black rubbery sealant that looks a bloody mess me not happy so will hopefully get it thru test then find someone decent to sort the problem area properly.

this is exactly why i hate letting people work on my car

gotta learn to weld

gotta learn to weld
it's not difficult to weld sir.

when i repaired my rear arch, the tester insisted that i remove the underseal so that he could see the repair. He took an extra long time looking at the repair too.

The tester KNOWS people do the filler & underseal trick, and therefore any new underseal is inspected more than normal.

£60 ? is that all for a mig welder.is that the one with the copper wire fed through the gun?i think ill invest in one as well.like daz says,im sick of paying for someone else to do work and getting a bodge job.the only way to guarantee a good job is to do it yourself.ive done plenty arc welding but thats a bit to heavy for a car i believe.learning skills like that is essential when you drive a more 'mature' car i think winkeye

I perfected my welding skills by practicing on worthless bits of scrap metal, usually metal bumper e30s !
