I've got a chip how do i fit it?!

I've taken the cover off, i've unplugged the big thing that goes into the ECU and now i have a what seems like a sealed box. And unbolted all the 10mm jobbies.

To me it seems i want to get in here?

Thanks guys

either your ICV is grubby or, someones altered the stock idle setting on the TB, use a 3mm allen key and open the base idle stop screw a few turns til 800 is reached dude.

downside of the above is the TPS will have to be altered to match, Nick Ps car was similar Si.

PITA but worth the effort.

i think i will start with the ICV and some carb cleaner? NOT WD40. Then go with the TB route.

The car isn't cutting out when cold either, but defo pulling like a train now, nice =)

Mate it now seems to idle at 600-700 which is fine in my book and i am pretty sure it settled at that now, but i'm still going to give the ICV a clean. I don't fancy adjusting the TB and TPS if it's fine how it is. Is this sensible?

Hi just a couple of quick questions which I know you have probably answered a million times Ant. If the zone chip raises the rev limiter to 7 grand what was it originally? And what advantage does this give?
cheers

Simon if you're happy with that then no worries, its just useful; to know what it should be

Widge, the higher limit allows you to hang onto a gear for a bit more over-rev, useful for drifting and general hooning round lanes, nothing worse than snagging the limiter when enjoying some RWD action,

Stock varies from 6.4K to 6.6K, no real power up that high in stock form but a few rpm higher is safe, M20 will sutain 7.2K all day without damage

as for question.. those were new ones

7.2 flippin eck  And there was me worrying about my precious little engine. Shall be using the limiter a bit more I think
