Guys,

I know iX's are rare these days, but if you came across one, would you buy one? Before deciding, please think of the following: What if you wanted to modify it? Put a bigger engine, maybe turbo it? What about handling mods? Also maintenance, what exotic parts are hard to get hold of, also costs?

Personally, I'd love an iX if I knew more about it and where to get parts, or aftermarket parts, and be able to afford the parts, or even do the work myself. Until that day comes, I will prefer the RWD this time.

Note, that I the iS would have the LSD too, so bare this in mind.

Thanks guys!

everything is the same on the ix as the normal i I think it's only the front diff, gearbox and drive shafts that are different and the obvious CV joints on the front.

I'm sure BMW have spares though!
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

The front suspension legs are different on the ix aswell as the wheet offset.

The sump, prop and gearbox are all obviously different as well as the chassis!

Everything else thats different from RHD and LHD cars obviously is too, unless its been converted!

As for BMWGB having ix specific spares i dont know as they were never sold through UK dealerships. They are available in Germany and the US though.

I bought a spare which i robbed the relevant drivetrain parts from as spares for mine, so ive never had to buy anything ix specific as yet! (touch wood) :D

Cheers

Tom
