My alarm keeps going off for no reason and it's annoying the neighbours! winkeye and me.

I could turn it off but I'd like to keep the remote central locking. Can I disable the alarm horn easily? Alternatively can I just disable the movement sensors in the car as I'm guessing it's those that keep causing the thing to go off.

It's a BMW fitted alarm. - Thinkin Brian you might know the anwer!

A fault like this normally goes back to a dodgy switch, probably the one that tell if the bonnet is open. Take the switch out and give it a good clean up (as they corrode) and hopefully this will help.

If you want to pm me your addy, ill stick a spare switch in the post to you which will hopefully help.

Cheers Stevie, I'll have a look tomorrow and see if the bonnet switch looks dodgy. :thumb:

There's lots of different OE alarms and "BMW approved" alarms. Need to know which it is.

If def a OE BMW Alarm, got it stamped all over it, got the BMW old style fob as well. Alarm processor is mounted behind the glove box. Although it's a BMW Alarm it looks like it was added aftter manufacture as the installation isn't that brilliant.

Thanks in anticipation! :D
