hi mate. i have alrady the same broblem than before with mi 318is 1991.dont forget its a canadian version so i have a cat converter.So i have a big problem with performance. when the car got warmed up he start to loose power at diferent stage of rpm. when i flored it its like i remove my foot(like and injection cut off) that go slower and slower again. i change every hoses from the mass air flo and the intake. i have change the blue temp senser and the only thing have do someting good for a little moment its the hoses.so the only check engine code i have with my reader its the c9 code (lamda emmision system) now i am really tired about tha problem.and if i shut the car off and restart in that could resolve the problem for a bit but not for very long.
so thx very much for somebudy could help me

With symptoms like that, and a fault code for Lambda, I would say it's probably the Lambda (Oxygen) sensor in the exhaust.
You will find the ECU (DME) ignores the Lambda sensor when the engine is warming up and only uses it once the engine is warm.

Change the Lambda senser?, 19mm spanner at the base of the down pipes.
Or run the risk and de-cat it, just done this to a 1993 K reg Tourer and it still passed the mot.

And now today he do in wen it was cold i cant just use it for now because he start to missfiering a 2500 rpm after a day without using it
i jamed with the suzuki swift of my syster .
a chance for me she is in france for another week (we live in quebec canada)
so that help me a bit because my father will never let me drive his e39 fo a week so if somebody have any idea of what that can be.I will goingn to change the lambda sensor soon and i dont think that can be my cat because i put an hi flo one (i was thinking the problem waas my old one so i change it ant that do nothing with my prob)
