Heloo Guru's, i have a problem with my 1987 325i sport, when it gets warm, the rev seem to go really low then high, i have replaced the idle valve with one i bought of ebay second hand. I do not know if the valve is fucked, it makes a buzzing noice which the original one did as well, please can you give some advice as to what to check to locate the proble. It is so anoying when the car keeps stalling at junctions.

Sounds like a split in an air hose. My old Sport did this... it was in the intake bellows.

The big black rubber elbow that runs between the AFM and the Throttle Body... the bit with all the convaluted bendy bits on, where the ICV (the bit you changed) sits...

That's the most likely place.

IF IT IS THAT, WHY DOES IT NOT DO IT WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD?
