Well the donor car I removed my 2.5 engine from went like stink!

Now its fitted to my 318 it doesnt seem as reponsive, done a full service on it,

Seems like theres bugger all power under 4k, as soon as it hits 4k it will fly along.

Is this just the nature of the engine? or is something up?

Cheers

sounds like my 320i nothing 'til 4K then flies. i would have expected a 325i to pull right through the rev range though

My 325 doesn't really spring to life until 3500-4000 rpm.
Then it takes off.

M20B25 engined car will drive along nicely on t's torque all day without ever exceeding 3500 RPM, but if you want it to fly, it all happens above 4000RPM.
