[b]Questions on my new 325i Motorsport Convertible?[/b]

Hi, i have just purchased a 1991 325i motorsport convertible, but i have a couple of questions. Why is my rocker cover plain alloy and others i have seen are painted black? Also it has air conditioning, but instead of the 2 square buttons it just has one large one (the same as the hazard button on its side) with the snow flake that goes blue in the middle. it also seems to have part of the a/c unit in the wee cubby hole below the heater controls which is behind a plastic cover. The origional sales invoice says a/c was fitted and it all looks genuine bmw, however i have not seen anything like it before. Can anyone help. Thanks

The rocker covers are unpainted as standard.

Not seen a 'single' air-con switch before, sorry.
