Tryed to get him to fit his Holset this week, only so i could hve his turbo & down pipes :D
Anyway to cut costs for now am going to use M30 injectors are 3.0 & 3.5 injectors the same, does any one know the part no?

Are you going MS straight away? If so don't bother, get atleast 42lb/hr, speak to Alex and Toby about how frustrating it can be too have maxxed out your injectors.

And I know for sure Ant's setup will swallow 1 bar with ease so you're gonna need big ones

It's a vital part of the process, worth the investment IMO.

Hopefully soon you'll be a boost junky like the rest of us nutters :D

im running the 3.5 injectors..(19lb).. tbh they run good when my car 'is' actaully running but as everyone says after about 5-6psi your starting to strangle em

BUT

If your not looking at the MS outlay for the time being and you can put up with 5-6psi which is enough for a while..trust me then you couold get away with em till you can afford bigger injectors and MS..the do em both together so really it depends on yer intentions..

Not sure on the injector size thought i know mine are from the 3.5 and they are 19lb

sorry about that :D ,
MS does seem expensive but gives a lot of control not sure if 350 is a bit optomistic, also want MS to control boost cut with a fast solinoid its ment to be a daily driver!

Hi Matt

High imp only remember, forget all the BMW v8s and e36 units wrong pintle type for the M20 runners

minimum 30#, optimum 44# overkill 60# remember though , the bigger the flow, generally the worse the low rpm running regardless of how its tuned, for this reason the 44's get my vote again.

to use the 19# you'll need an FMU, soo there's £200 of your hard earned already, money better invested in MS imho.

#= lbs/hr

@ Ben, sorry dude, I held it as long as I could buddy

so no point getting 19# if you have to spend £200 on a FMU, the greens were £250ish, ps. whats a FMU :?

fmu fuel management unit, for fuel pressure control on stock management(they are used with motronic to adjust fuel pressure/rate by sensing boost, but its easier and a bit more for m.s)people use it in the hope of a cheaper setup, but in the end realise the error of there ways....lol

yes,, but the injector pulse width will govern the boost max level Matt

you can gain a tad more by switching from alternating or upping the squirts per cycle but neither is recommended long term.

£700 for a new holset?, my HX40 was £500 without an exchange £300 with, £700 for H1C seems expensive. Know nothing about petrol injectors but why you say high imp only ant, I see people using low imp with vems. Also what size v-band you need ant, i have a 3.5" spare but thats 3.5" measuring from inside of V not outside

will this included feeds, return, exhaust elbow turbo was 450 plus the dreaded i think.all in including vat was 700 ish.elbow was over a 100 squid but like i say it was destined for a cummins and aint no good.450 was a good price for the spec of h1c 18 cm2 housing etc.

where did you source the v-bands Will?

mines a HX35- 17cm/3 so thats too big dude, but thanks for the offer, appreciated

mines 3 1/4 outside 2 1/2 ish inside( still sealed)

with regard to the High/Low Z injectors, you can use low Z with MS, as the V3 has the flyback resistors as std, high Z are more available though, and a known quantity

Just a quick note wih regards to injectors. I have found that the max size you can really get away with on MS is about 230cc per litre engine capacity.

Any more and the pulse widths become too low at idle and MS 0.1 ms adjustability is not enough. This maay not be a problem with MSII as you have 0.01 resolution on pulse widths.

Currently trying to tune a 450 bhp + engine with 680cc injectors and its a bitch!
