325 sport. INSURANCE !!!
Moderator: martauto
Gettin my first e30 soon, Can anyone help me with insurance companys etc, Ive had some alright quotes off confused but want to better them, Im 26 and after 325is, How do i go about classic insurance also.
best quotes i got for my 320i were from confused.com and ive spent a good amount of time shopping around!
i was using classic insurance for my minis and it was dirt cheap but when i tried to change it over to the bmw it was silly money, ive had quotes half the price off confused.com for 'normal' insurance without limited milage etc etc
classic insurance is ok if its purely a weekend toy (or a 998/1089cc mini!) but for something big or more of a regular used car dont bother with it IMHO (ive had classic for a couple of years now). some classic policies dont drop prices after a year regardless if you have a claim or not, and some policies dont give you a no-claims bonus regardless either, cos with it based on limited milage the chances of claiming are minimal.
but hey good luck with it!

I pay £346 fully comp on my 320 Cab as a classic car policy allowing 5000miles a year, with free breakdown cover and Windscreen excess is £0
I can get the name of the firm when i get home if it helps

Try Performance direct, I was £249 Fully comp for my sport last year but I'm an old bugger with 10 years NCB.

I might be wrong, but a lot of the companies quoted dont cover mods, though the people recommending them have modded motors?! Bit dodgy no?
Anyone know of any more companies other than Flux that are understanding with mods?

What's people's experience with suspension/wheel mods? Mine's dropped 40mm on 15" BBS but the drivetrain is almost standard.
I still have all the OEM springs/shocks/wheels, so I can convert back if necessary. Should I 'fess up?
