just a few pics to show off my new touring that i have been given (free of charge but just as a sweetener for the 850csi reshell i am doing, no such thing as a free lunch  )

Image

Image

Image

not bad once i cleaned vast amounts of bird poo off it and ive spent a happy day fixing numerous faults including windscreen washers, headlight wash wipe, central locking(easy fix when you know what goes wrong) obc not lighting up,knackered mirror glass, tailgate rattling.

plus ive fitted the steering wheel, gear knob and front seats from my sport project car (long term project as it is) and fitted the headrests from the old front seats into the rear seats.it needed the above parts to freshen up the interior as the milage is

Image

but its made the drivers seat a nice place to be

Image

few more jobs to tackle but need parts i dont have in my shed, n/s gutter trim, heater blower motor (i think) and rear wiper motor as the washer pipe connector has bust off and it fills the tailgate with water when you try washin the rear window lol

all in all a good days work though and the car feels great to drive even given the milage its covered in fact it drives far far better than my calypso 320ise thats only covered 100k

Nice freebie - what a result! :P So will you now sell on the 320iSE? The 850Csi reshell sounds like a serious mission, knowing how complex those spaceships are! 8O Is that required as a result of crash damage, or rust?
Best of luck with it all.

our lass is running the 320 at the moment and she loves it.that too was a bargain at £150 but it was written off, thats how come i bought it cause i repair salvage vehicles for a living.hence the starship reshell cause that was written off too but the rust in the old shell helped the decision for the reshell.oh and complex just isnt the word

Thats a nice touring, I like! If that shell is as good as it looks, will you be tempted by some naughtiness under the bonnet? It could be worth putting some horsepower in there if the shell is going to last

the shell seems solid enough but i havnt been under it yet although i have it on good (independant) authority that its good.few small cosmetic dings and scabs to sort and she`ll look really good.got an eta engine in my workshop which will be going in my sport when its finally road worthy so im tempted to build it up and slot it in the touring as a bit of a testbed until the sports done.might get the wheels refurbed too since i have two sets of five wheels.

funny really, when i went to fetch this free car i was expecting to just use it as a van for work but im really liking it and i just want to keep improving it
