Do you have any pictures of one hammerite'd?, also will any hammerite paint work?, ie, no special high temp paint needed?

Cheers

Red D.

Theres quite a few people use hammerite because it is high temperature paint i think. Will try dig up some piccies of a hammerited engine.

Cheers Hammoj, that looks amazing, now all I need is some clue on how to do that to mine (and inlet) without removing either from the car (great believer in if it ain't broken, don't fix it).

it is NOT a ht paint...they do produce one for bbqs and a ht paint but the normal hammerite is not...most peeps use sperex which is a smooth paint or harley davidson's ht paint which gives a crinkle finish

The wrinkle paint is by PJ1 - I got some off eBay recently. You can also get it here: http://www.jktuning.co.uk/pj1prices.htm

I haven't painted my cover yet. How do you do the raised polished ribs? I assume you file and polish them before painting, then scrape the paint off after?

One on mine to. Old brake pads and clutches used to have asbestos in them. Not any more though!

They stopped using asbestos in the early 80s.

My dad should know he worked with it everyday
