lovely! exactly what i have planned... with out the V8...
I've sold my 318iS and started collecting the parts for my M3 tourer, then somebody mentioned this thread to me! will have to pick your brains how you tackled the rear wing conversion, i have a pretty good idea of whats involved, plus i know how to weld / lead solder etc...

Sorry not to have kept you guys/girls informed on this one! the reality is i have been so snowed under with work and other commitments i havent done a thing to it apart from use the car as a bench in my garage!! i also had problems logging on with my user name so have had to change it!, to be honest i have just re registered on here for your opinions really, a friend of mine has just offered me £4000 for the car in the state its in, no engine or manifolds but everything else to finish, gearbox/prop/sump etc.... and i am really in a dilema what to do, its not that i have lost interest i love the car to bits and i truely believe it would be an awsome car when finished!!! but i just cant see me ever having the time now or in the near future, if it was yours would you sell? i am not desperate for the money at all and i have even considered finding an old barn to store it in untill i have got the time but i must admit i could with the space in my garage!!

if you dont need the money dont sell it. eventually you will get around to finishing it. eventually. if youve lost interest in the project then fair enough sell it on but otherwise youll just regret it. especially if you see it driving around when someone else has finished it.

Robcharley, just go back and read the plaudits for your work. Then ask yourself what you will do with the space in your garage if you sell it. You say you dont really need the money you have been offered and its just a case of spare time. Looks like you have done the majority of the work already so imho finish it mate , however long it takes. As fuzzy has already said, you will only regret it if you dont.

Don't sell it, mate. Store it until you have the time to finish it. You've said yourself that you don't need the cash. It has the potential to be one of the best and fastest E30's in the world. All the hard work is done and I think you would regret selling it when it is so close to completion. Don't let somebody else benefit from all YOUR hard work!
Think ahead to when it is finished and you can enjoy it.
Taylor.

Dont sell mate, ive been in the same position as you a couple of times over the last 3 1/2 years with my project, at the moment i dont have the funds or the time i need to invest to get the old girl finished and the lock up i keep her in costs a fortune every month and no doubt i could use the lock up to make money if it was empty, But i know she will be finished some time and when shes on the road ill have the satisfaction of knowing ive built her up myself, for me and when that day comes i wont care how long it took or how much it cost

I dont know m8 that is a fine set of wheels you have there!, the e30 is just made for the 8!!
The V8's do fit the e30's extremely well. Excellent balance and handling is just a tad understeery, (but I have yet to do a wheel alignment and set the roll bars up properly).robcharley wrote:drifty325i wrote:Keep it! this thing is awesome, makes my v8 look a bit tame lol

But I have a touring, so it evens it out better!
Interestingly enough, when I had the M30 in it, it handled worse than with the V8!!
I've always wanted to do the M3 mod to my touring, just never found the right parts! (plus I want to keep my racing dynamics body kit!) Maybe i can graft it all together???
Stoked to hear your not selling the beast. trust me.. You won't regret it!!

I'm for sure that once you find back the time to work on her, she'll be awesome. If you'd live near, I'd pass by to help, but I 've a little space in between, water...
