Does any one know waht the differences were between the 533 and the 535 (e28 generation) M30 motors? I know on M20s the only differences btwn the variations (325e vs 325i/s) were valvesprings and cams. Is this the same with these two motors? Basically I have a free 533 donor and I'm swaping it into my E30, but it needs to be rebuilt anyway so I'm just going to rebuild it with the 535 parts in the place of w/e the 533 parts are! haha That was long winded... TIA!

To be honest, I've never heard of an E28 533i... ever!

The only variations I know about are: 518i / 520i / 525i / 525e / 528i / 535i

This might help, it looks like you need some M30B35 pistons and bore out the block. I've got a spare set of M30B35 pistons if you want to go down that road.
