working on my central locking, done the red/black wire thing which doesnt work.

It locks using the keypad, but doesnt unlock! HOWEVER using the passenger door unlocks everything but doesnt lock

I'm out of ideas.

what wire tells tells the door to unlock? Hoping to sort today so dont have to take it all apart next weekend.....

Ecu is clicking quite happilly when locking or unlocking is tried.

I dont think the ecu is at fault because I changed it and its clicking. I dont think the door module things are knackered because they either locking or unlocking (but not both).

The pins move freely and are not jammed.

take the central locking relay out from behind the speaker, cut the wires (just like the red/wire fix thing) then, to test, attach a wire from your positive on your battery, to these two red/black wires.

now try your central locking.

the red/black thing didnt solve my problem, but the above did winkeye

Clean out (and I mean REALLY clean out) the door connectors. The big multi pin plug thats between the two hinges on each door. They corrode really bad and make the central locking do all sorts of weird things! When you take the rubber boot off the plug, if you can see green anywhere, chances are the plug is very corroded. I had to re-route some of the wires thorugh the multiplug and hard wire them together to get my central locking working again.

Update on this b@stard central locking.

Locks everything fine using keypad
Doesn't lock using pin or key in door

Unlocks fine using pin on passenger door....ONLY whilst engine is running
Ecu clicks when trying to unlock using keypad

All doors lock/unlock themselves only using pins or key in door.

WTF is going on - really getting on my tits now!

I'd place a bet on those multi-plugs in the door frame! Take the plug out and use fine wet and dry paper roled very small to clean the connectors.
