Chrome bumper help?

Can any of you chrome bumper experts help out?
I may need to replace the front pannel on my 87 tech 1 sport.
As far as i can tell there are 2 different types of lower pannel on chrome bumpers, i think they changed the design in 1985.
Just wondering which one i need for my sport, is one a 2 piece design and the other design a 1 piece?

Unless ive misunderstood here, I think you need item 8 on the diagram on this link.

Is 7 the sectoin between the headlight grill and the bumper?
Theo, is that how your front pannel looks without the front spoiler on?

Yeah that's what's on my car when the spoiler is removed, how come you need to replace it? You had a knock or is it just rotten?

having some paint put on a few bits this week and item 7 is quite rustly and the lower pannel didnt seem too clever either when we took the spoiler off last time so may replace it?

Oh right, should be simple enough to do. I'm getting a tech 1 sport in a couple of weeks, black as well come to think of it, just hoping that it's restoreable!

i noticed the prices are in dollars on those diagrams are the part numbers OK for the UK market i.e. if i take the part number into BMW will it all match up correctly

dude front panels are 1 piece, it's only the lower design of it which is different between normal chrome cars and sports! innit u know this bert!

All it seems to be is where the fogs are held being the big difference!
