Tbh m8.. apart from that and caking it with WD40 before hand is grinding it off? you got enough room there to cut it off

If you can heat the area around the bolt with a blow torch or gas welding torch you should be able to loosen it .
That is if the 1/2" socket stays on.
Another trick i to weld another short bolt to the head of the other and use that to undo it. The heat from welding often helps too.

Buy a BMW never happens on those winkeye failing that if you can get in there with a drill (and good quality tungsten Carbide bits) drill into the bolt end (not the nut end  ) start with a small bit to get centred, then once you have drilled a small pilot hole drill in there with the bigger bit until you drill through the bolt head and into the shaft of the bolt. chisel the remainder off and bobs yer uncle.

As much of a fan as I am, I wouldn't have a set of extractors if that were true!

yeah yeah, rub it in  :D

theres no nut on it, its one of the bolts that hold the caliper on, kind of round the back in the wheel arch, if you know what i mean

Often just putting a little tightening up pressure breaks the seal, try using a small cold chisel, hitting the bolt head sideways to tighten and then to undo it.
