Isn't drifting like a slaag justification enough?!!!
You should get more grip on a fast pull away and better traction exiting a corner under power - should eliminate the inside wheel spinning the power away as it lifts and loses grip. Unless you go OTT and spin both wheels!
Also it should reduce difficulty in pulling away on wet grass etc.
I've never had to try this but if a driveshaft breaks you should be able to still drive (slowly) with drive getting to the other wheel (I think - could be wrong about that!).
Go for it, if your'e a hooligan you'll love it - slippers are flippin' great!!!

Depending on what the ratio of your current diff is, you may notice a drop in acceleration with a 3.64 ratio diff.

You will notice a massive drop in accelleration as the 320i has a 4.10, depending on year.
You won't drift much really unless the road is wet as you will need to be revving the nut's out of the 2.0L to get it going then have to watch your's rev;s as the wheel's will be spinning alot quicker than normal and you will spin. You have to get it right to get the wheel's spinning at the right speed so you don't spin but i don't think the 2.0L has got enough poke tbh as the rpm will be too low...........that's just in second gear!
Get yourself a 3.91 LSD, will be alot better

I don't think the ratio makes a massive difference on a wet road.
I had a Capri 2.8i which would do (on the speedo - with standard wheels, gearbox and diff ratio) 80 in 2nd gear, 110 in 3rd and it would still be easily provoked into a slide!
To get practice and confidence, out of junctions and roundabouts in 1st gear is a hoot, and it won't matter what diff ratio you are running then, it WILL break traction with a heavy right foot!
Once the wheels are spinning you can adjust the slide with throttle and (opposite) steering lock.
Just make sure the road isn't busy with trafic or padestrians - for obvious safety reasons! Even experts (and I'm not one) get it wrong sometimes, so always be selective where these things are done!
