Go M50 route Twiggy 8)

Cheap as chips and completley transforms the E30.

I would love an M52 lump, but I would need to see it running before I hand any money over

stuart alpina used 324td crank! special lighter high comp mahle pistons! heavily modified 325i head!

as did hartge pretty much it's the only way the proper way!

reliable everyday usable 200bhp plus and a nice whack of torque. the engine can't breath enough with a 731 head

2p in the pot

If I was to do it again id get all the parts together before even thinking about touching the car. The hardest bit is looking for the right parts, waiting for them to come in etc.

The whole conversion can be done in a few weekends if you know how to go about it 8)

i think you mistaken the engine in your mums car is a m54 double vanos.m52 is a single vanos and suffer with nikosil bore wear and unless you can get one with the modified block.i can supply one for 995.00 all in.
nope i think your mistaking the engine - m54 is iron block
