I'm changing the 2.0 engine to a 2.5 in my touring (with help!).
Do I need to change the loom over, or will the existing one be ok? Just change the ecu etc?
Anything else wiring-wise, or whatever-wise I need to do which isn't basic?
(take out old engine, put new one in?)
Thanks!

u comin up monday too dan??
cya there, ill try bring the anitroll bar for ya! with brackets etc....
dave--what we'll do is just disconnect the loom from the car in from ure 2.5.. then lift it out with the loom and plonk it all in ure tourer after removing the 2.0l motor with its loom also..
its a lot easier and saves remembering what wires go where..... plus u'll know it will work!-lot easier thatta way!
if u can remove the gear linkages and slave cylinder from both cars that would be great-also the prop at the front from both cars
and all that other stuff we discussed on msn...
bring on the 2.5!!!

are you uprating your brakes David?
Also, what are the relative weights of the two engine blocks?
I am presuming the 2.5 is marginally heavier?

David?
The brakes on the 320 are the same as the 325 aren't they, and Tourings came with discs on the back anyway
I will soon be uprating the brakes anyway, using discs and pads recommended by Karan. Good enough for his chariot, they'll do on mine!
I can't imagine the 2.5 being much heavier if at all than the 320? Both 6 pots, gotta be similar?

same weight....
im guessing 2.5 may be a gram or two lighter with the larger bore lol
Dave with that setup i told you... u'll stop no problem even with the way u drive lol ive had my pedal go very slightly soft but the pedal was still there and brakes were biting great--whereas the setup i had on my iS-red dot 20 groove, red dot fast rpad pads all round was terrible and i warped 2 sets of front discs......
by overheating them silly-in a 4 pot.......

Cool.
I don't wanna be having brake fade! Had a couple of scary incidents with brake fade.
Had fade on Saturday night actually, in the Mazda down a hilly bit of back road three's up.
Wasn't even going quickly, was pretty scary!

Yeah that's fine mate.
The earlier the better, so long as you don't mind getting up!
The earlier we get started, the earlier it gets done!
