I dunno what to do about getting a system on my sport cause so many people have different ideas, basically my standard system is rotton except the downpipe, i got a quote from powerflow and they wanted £450+
Scorpion and sebring are a bit exspensive also at £400+ so what i was thinking was getting a sebring middle section and then either have a back box made or just stick a new standard backbox on this what do you think?

scorpions are an aquired taste my man, they howl and wail like a scalded banshee and people will hear u streets before u arrive! very hollow noise.
Sebring is more like standard, classy and has a more bassy noise on idle and low revs and a nice deep growl higher up. Not too loud either
Just remember this 80% of the noise on M20's comes from what centre box u have fitted, the back box makes little bearing on how the car sounds.
Sebring's will last aslong as standard systems eg bloody years, but u pay for it.
U should be able to get a scorpion for alot cheaper new! they last a long while too and are well made from the outside! it's just the mild steel baffles which go on the inside after a few years
Need we talk about powerflow?!

Powerflow = pretty shite 99% of the time
Sebring is worth the £Â£ i reckon, have to check pipe diameters tho if you want to mate one with standard rear box

If you want a scorpion, i managed to get mine for £360 inc delevery from Motech.
That was back box and center section.

Simon is spot on about the noise coming from the mid section. I briefly fitted a standard BMW Eberspacher mid box to mine instead on the cat and difference is huge. Supersprint also make good rear boxes but they aren't cheap and as part of a 3 part system difficult to find.

The only other exhaust I can think of which a few zone members have liked is the Blueflame.
I am about to test one out on a car and will come back with the results.
The tail pipes are a bit big though!
Lots of people don't like the scorpion for the noise and the Sebring for the angled tail pipes.
I am going to ask Blueflame to make up some exhausts which have a sound similar to Sebring but with straight slash cut tail pipes which are roughly 76mm.
From what I've seen of the exhaust they have sent me it's very well made.

Sal, I've seen a few mentions about the angled tailpipes on the sebring, and always thought to myself, they aren't that bad.
It wasn't until someone posted a for sale ad a couple of weeks ago for a sebring back box, and I noticed how 'angled' the tailpipes were, that it occured to me there must be 2 types, the one I have on my touring is nowhere near as angled as the one that was for sale.

I'm just giving info, just in case people with M-tech kits are put off, the sebring fits fine, the angle on the one I have is hardly noticeable.
Sal seems to have seen this type of sebring

Where as this is the type I have

As you can see, the second one is hardly an angle, and I think Sal may be putting people off thinking the first one is the only one available.

I cannot resist giving a large one in the dartford tunnel, the noise my scorpion box made was awesome, coupled with a dump valve going off really made mecliffybabe wrote: I tell ya what i have noticed I have become a tunnel fiend, like Az
I also had a sebring on the car when I bought it and that had a sweet tune also. I wonder if anyone did any power tests on them back in the day, they were pretty popular and makes sense to get the best performer if you're gonna spend that sort of money.
I've just gone single 3 inch with a single backbox 1/3 of the size of stock and I'm shocked it's not that loud......but aint been out on the road yet
Mark.

if u want a standard system in stainless try Larini (sp) or possibly quicksilver but use quicksilver as a last resort!
i have a quicksilver system on my alpina. They sound the tits also! really bassy at low revs so good for cruising. Nice wail top end too. They sound the business
so in short standard noise but louder and more bass!
my quicksilver system is alot louder now than when new 2 years ago because it had a hard life on my old sport!
