They can make a big difference on ford engines.
Could it have been cause your old ones were toast?

the old ones where only 6 weeks old and in perfect light brown condition,i just felt like puting the proper ones in as someone else told me they melted the bosch plug in their cossie twice.i also didnt realise you had to gap new plugs, i thought when you bought new plugs for a specific car they were set and ready to go

YES!!! a massive difference! most car manufacturers, especially performance manufacturers such as cosworth, use a specific spark plug based around the design of the enginefuzzy wrote:it in my imagination or does that sort of thing really make a difference?
even the M20 has to specific plugs or it runs like shit. S50 spark plugs are also a special design, and we've had so many people come in complaining their M3 is running like shit, and we look at the plugs, and they're not the specific ones! mind you, im not surprised people dont put the proper ones in - they cost nearly £30 each i think!!!
