People your assistance please!!

I had a prang last week :( i need to get the front bumper off! I removed the plastic trim under the licence plate to find two large star headed nuts (t60) are these the one that hold the bumper on (1 on each side)??

The heads are getting torn up so im not going any further until you guys can clarify!

regards to all

Torx bolt T55 is what you need, two bolts and it comes off, easiest job ever

I may be wrong, but I think you are looking at the wrong torx bolts.

The ones you need to remove the bumper are on the underside, not behind the rub strips on the face.

I beg to differ mate, the one in the touring that im fraggin are ceased in good and propper. I've bathed them in wd40, used an impact drive (with the correct t55 head of course), used a massive break bar and smacked it with a masssive drift, and the bastards still won't come out. Whats even more annoying is that the mtech kit which they are holding onto is sold, and I want the money!

i know what you mean Theo - and sadly when they are that siezed in, 9 times out of 10, the bolt head snaps before they'll move.

Can be nasty things.

If they can't be undone, then you need to get at the two 13mm bolts each side that hold the bumper mounts to the chassis rails - somehow.

These bolts hold the bumper mounting bracket to the bumper, and removing them would release the bumper - but unfortunately they have loose nuts on them, so they wouldn't unscrew, even if you started them.

Cheers O'B'1 for the help - i'm gona get the damn thing off asap then post pics of the damage in this thread - im hoping its just a case of straighting out the valance or what ever the brackets are mounted on! Any advice at that point will be apprec8td so keep an eye open chaps!

This is how it looks :(
The wing was a mess before hand so i just need to replace it once and for all! Anyone got 1 or know a man who does?

Image

My plan is to get the bumper off and try and reshaped the valance(pull out the dented bit where the bracket is) so that the bumper sits back in the right position. Is this the best way to go about it??

I which case can someone tell me the size of the alan key required for the bolt under the bumper (below) - If its another tool i need - please can someone confirm. Need to go halfrauds and buy it.

Image

something hit the front lip of the bonnet and its rolled slightly out of shape is it worth trying to reshape it (if so with what ?) or start looking for a bonnet?

Image

Any advice would be appreciated people, regards to all...

It's a 10mm allen key Jason. You might need that bonnet after all!

Hey Chris! Funnily Enuf - you've been on my mind!! :)

Yeah that maybe best - pm me, cant remember if i still have your location - speaking of unwanted panels how do people get rid of their unwanted stuff that isnt sold?

Thanks for the info too 10mm it is! Will that just take the bumper itself off? i imagine the bracket will stay on the car ...

The two brackets stay on the car, yes.

Re unwanted panels. Metal Recyclers or domestic waste centres.

I'll drop you a note about the bonnet...
