After ages of thinkin about it and trying to decide whether i was going to keep my car or not, the next stage of getting my car up to scratch is taking place thanks to shaz325isport and his mate Ben.

The change from my lowly 318i to a 325i is taking place! Although I do like to do some work myself on the car, doing something like a conversion is out of my league and do not have the tools, space or time to do so either, and my mates that do no longer live nearby. Thankfully Shaz picked up on my thread about getting someone to do the conversion for me for a sensible amount of £.

Providing all goes to plan I should be driving a 325i sport in the look of a 318iS by the end of next week. Getting a tad excited! Its been so long over due and I just hope all goes to plan otherwise I'm going to have a lot of non-believers telling me 'I told you so' + 'just buy a new car!' However I kept the faith so hopefully it will pay off. Even once its done, I still need to tend to the bodywork in places (hopefully around winter time), then start tuning etc next year.

Can't wait!!!
Would have been good to be able to do it myself but still, lookin forward to razzin past a few of the non-believers winkeye 8O

Anyone done the whole registering with DVLA thing of new engine/engine no? How long did it take to get new V5 back and all that stuff?

Nick

Mate, you know I'm excited! Only thing is I'm still not gonna be satisfied till I get some of the bodywork sorted, slammed again on a H+R 60/40 kit, s/s full exhaust system, chip, wheels painted etc etc etc Although with the engine and all the other bits I'm gonna be pretty happy! To be fair just having it as is with the conversion complete and some bodywork attention around winter, I think I'll be pretty damn proud.

Nice one with the progress so far and for keeping me updated!

Yeah got the leathers not too long ago from another Shaz off the zone. Think the drivers seat mechanisms might need a bit of sorting though, but very happy with them none the less! Although I've not fully experienced sweating my tits off in this heat whilst in the car/seats with no a/c yet :( .

Defo need to change the wing but reckon I'll just save up some more paychecks and get all the bodywork done in one go.

So has anyone done the whole registering a different engine in the car thing before? Would like to hear how long it took for the DVLA to give confirmation of change and what exactly needs to be done. As far as I can make out all I have to is fill out a few bits on the V5 and send it off?
