rear headrests in a touring

i want to get them out but im too pussyscared to pull on em in case i fak em up. is there a trick wat to get em out or is it just a brute force issue? i tried loading stuff today and found i waisted more space putting them forward than just leaving them up, bowlax

Brute force my man,brute force!
Pull it up full stretch,then using the base of you hand a sharp thump up onto the bottom of the head rest and it will come out.
I've done this procedure more times than i can remember and they still work loverly.
If you just try to pull it out,it is nearly impoossible to get them out.

No real force required. The last scribe is deeper to stop the thing coming off in the hands of a passener.
Just pull it until it stops and then start to rock it back and forth while pulling. This lifts the spring out of the scribe. No hassle.
