fuel down pipe

Right im going to look at a E30 Toruer 325i

They guy sais the fuel down pipe is rotten can any one shed any light on what this is as he said he can get one for £100 quid.

Pipe from the filler cap to the tank more likely!know they are expensive new, but £100 sounds a bit steep.
Ask your dealer for a price. Can't give you the part no., as ETK is on my recently deceased PC.

How bad is the hole?

I managed to repair one with a bit of "metal" putty from Halfords and a good couple of coat of "strait to rust" paint (bright yellow....)

Its fine a year later

I did this as it was a split one (due to antra tank as in m3's) They cost £250 from dealers!
